You have reached Festival, king of entertainers and entertainer of kings. I'm fairly certain this device will allow you to leave a message. Best of luck with that.
[This is not how she wanted their next interaction to begin, but... such is life, it seems. Amelia's message arrives late in the afternoon the day after the failed heist, when she's already on display outside the People Zoo.]
Festival, I have need to see you again soon. An apology is owed for my part in what Hawke's going through.
I'm indisposed for the next few days, and have work obligations over the weekend. Are you available Monday or Tuesday next?
I appreciate that, but it really isn't necessary. Hawke and I spoke about the risks of our shared association before ever we put pen to paper. I'm sorry for what you and he going through now, but I'm certainly not owed any apology for it, neither from him nor from you.
If I can assist in your current predicament, though, certainly let me know.
I must submit documentation of how amends have been made. I don't suspect they'll follow up to ask for receipts, but telling them my apology was rebuked without any alternative offer won't do.
So I ask again: what can I do to help? I'm a woman of some means, but I have many skills I can offer, even outside being a rogue. I'm an excellent businesswoman, if that is of any help. I trained for years to take over my family's spice trading business before changing my course.
I truly feel as though I am taking advantage if I admit that I could indeed make good use of experienced assistance in matters of business. How are you with bookkeeping? I strongly suspect I've made an entire mess of the books at Honestea.
If you'd asked apropos of nothing two weeks ago, my answer would have been the same. My help is yours when you ask.
I have extensive knowledge and experience with bookkeeping. Beyond my family's teachings, I kept all the books for my House for a decade and a half. You can imagine how delicate the books of a house of rogues must be, I'm sure.
I will need access to everything if I'm to do this. Balancing books is invasive when started after the fact. Give me a week or two, though, and I can have them back to working order.
[Whether they stay there or not will be up to Festival, or whoever she encourages him to hire to keep them in order.]
